Kerja Lapangan Sains Samudera @ Pulau Bidong

Assalamualaikum~
Salam sayam...
haii, rasanya lama da aku tak update blog, and someone asked me to update. hoho!
entri da ada, tapi aku tak publish2 juga, hehe!

Bermula 25 Jun ~ 13 Julai, aku ada Kerja Lapangan MMB 3000 a.k.a Field Work, which is, subjek ni aku
amik untuk sem 3, subjek wajib, kalau gagal kena repeat! hoho! lepas pergi site, kena analisis sample, interpreting data, buat presentation (the creepy part!) and finally buat report.
first week, kiteorang buat kerja makmal, planning for sampling, pastu lagi seminggu stay kat Pulau Bidong!

Hari Pertama @Bidong 8Jun
Group aku buat PhyRES (Physical & Remote Sensing).
got to handle instruments, mostly instrument2 ni dalam 10K above, huhu! kalau Hydrolab Datasonde Multiparameter tu harga dia about 85K, peperghh! rasa macam campak kerete VIOS je ke laut. huhu.
Datasonde Multiparameter mengalami kerosakan on the sampling day, so replace guna Quanta still the same function as well, boleh measure salinity(kemasinan), pH, suhu, depth, water conductivity, DO and turbidity.
ada a few instruments nak kena handle. yang paling tak tahan, kiteorang sampling dari pukul 2 petang sampai 6 petang. group aku ada 14 orang, hanya 5 orang je tak mabuk laut, kekeke! (aku mabuk laut jugak weh, mana tak mabuk kalau kapal da benti 2,3 jam, terumbang ambing, maunye bagi ikan makan muntah, haha!)

the same day, terus analyse water sample collected. ada 3 station , every station ada 3 botol
water sample. tiring! phewww!

Hari Kedua @Bidong 9Jun

BioGeoChemistry. this part quite challenging jugak. this part is summarising all 3 subjects practical, Biology Oceanography, Geology Oceanography, and Chemistry Oceanography. collecting sediments for heavy metal study, benthos organisms and preserve the benthos. most instrument yang digunakan hari ni, sume berat Bongo Net need to tow, Smith McLyntyre lowered using gear, towing Sledge using gear.

Snorkel + Manta Tow. Snorkel untuk observe coral dan buat coral mapping using quadrat2 yang da dibuat. apa yang aku boleh kata, part ni memang exciting! siang tu kiteorang snorkeling pastu malam tu kiteorang candat sotong :D owh ya, Manta Tow kind of, macam alternative way to observe coral, the fast way indeed. korang hanya pegang board and bot akan tunda korang.. EXCITING!

hari keempat, kumpulan aku da bergerak pergi ke Chagar Hutang kat Pulau Redang. Chagar Hutang is turtle sanctuary belong to UMT to protect the turtle nests, and arrange their hatchlings time. :)
so by the time group aku stay kat Chagar Hutang, the night we stay up, ada 8 ekor punyu mendarat. 5 ekor bertelur, and another 3 just body fitting. fyi, hanya pernyu betina aje yang mendarat, dan penyu jantan takkan pernah naik ke darat da. mereka mendarat pun untuk bertelur. Penyu bertelur dimana tempat dia menetas dulu (tempat lahir). kat Chagar Hutang ada 2 spesis je yang datang, Green Turtle and Hawksbill (sila google). Leatherback a.k.a Penyu Belimbing dulu mendarat kat Kuala Abang, tapi sekarang tak da. sob sob.

kiteorang stay satu malam je kat Redang, pagi terus balik ke Bidong semula. sesampai aje kat Bidong, terus packing and cleaning then return to campus. sampai aje kat kampus, terus masuk lab, analyse nutrient.
and on 13Jun (jumaat) for the whole day berkabung kat lab. tiring! but i do love to explore new things!
So, ni la apa aku belajar, lagi 2 tahun InsyaAllah aku grad. aku suka marine life, and adventurous thing that's why i choose this field for sure.♥

nota kaki: woow! terima kasih sebab sudi baca entri aku yang berjela ni sampai habis. hoho! anyway, sayangilah bumi dan laut kita. kalau tak mampu, at least sumbanglah sokongan untuk membantu, itu pun da memadai, sesungguhnya, aku benar2 melihat bumi semakin tua sekarang. huhu!
